Today a meeting was conducted with MPCB field officer Mr Ketan Patil (Maharastra Pollution Control Board) to discuss on the issuance of licenses to industries , as these licenses are necessary for entities to operate while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations
Key Aspect of meeting:
- Consent to Operate (CTO)
CTO is a permission granted by MPCB to industries to operate. - Consent to Establish (CTE)
CTE is a permission granted by MPCB to industries to establish their operations.
Requirements for CTO:
1. Application: Submit an application to the MPCB, providing details of the industry or business, including pollution control measures.
2. Fees: Pay the prescribed fees for CTO.
3. Documents: Submit required documents, such as mentioned in the application.
4. Inspection: Undergo an inspection by MPCB officials to verify compliance .
The MPCB ha categorise the industries into four categories:
- RED,
- ORANGE
- GREEN
- WHITE
Based on the pollution potential and environmental impact of industries , which will be duly inspected by the feild officer before categorising .
